Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej and is now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 for the Olympic contest. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was six years old. The first time she competed at the national junior championships 1969 where she placed 13th. She won the competition in 1970. She took home three golds at her first event which was a junior Olympic meet in 1972. It was for communist bloc countries. In 1973 and 1974, she became the all-around junior champion. In addition, she won four gold and one silver in her first international competition for seniors and was held in the year 1975. This was the first time she competed as an adult. In 1976, she became the first female to complete reverse double salos on the uneven parallel bar as part of her dismount. She won the title at the American Cup, held in New York City. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. At the age of 13 she began appearing in traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her career in entertainment as a teenager. At the age of 13, Carol began as a figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows featured skating on ice and included staged performances.
